Train the Church in Matters of Doctrine, Because DOCTRINE MATTERS.

The resources of Doctrine Matters are produced to practically equip Christians with a better understanding the need for biblical discernment and how it is exercised within the Church as well as in their personal life. Our ultimate goal is that every Christian would  take seriously the biblical doctrines they claim to affirm.

A Biblical precedent for the purpose of this site is found in Paul's first Epistle to young pastor Timothy. He writes, "...If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed." And just a little later in this same letter, Paul writes, "Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers." These passages, along with many more, show us just how seriously Scripture, and the Christian doctrine it contains, must be taken.

We seek to accomplish in two ways.

We expose teaching and influences that threaten biblical doctrine in order to help Christians reconcile various degrees of falsehood with the Truth found in Scripture. This understanding is designed to stir up a conviction to defend the Truth found in God's Word against those who contradict and oppose it.

We develop resources that practically demonstrate how Christians are able to accurately test false truth-claims against the Word of God. This constant behavior is designed to train the Christian's abilities of discernment, guarding them against deception and enabling ongoing maturity.

Inability to distinguish doctrine is spreading far and wide, and so long as the preacher is “clever” and “earnest,” hundreds seem to think it must be all right, and call you dreadfully “narrow and uncharitable” if you hint that he is unsound!
